Blogger Shout-out: Kat of SassyCat’s Books

Thank_You_Kat

Today I wanted to give a shout-out to the very awesome Kat of SassyCat’s Books who not only sent me my favorite holiday gift this year, but who is also a wonderful member of this blogging community.

I think I first “met” Kat through our mutual love of Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamers series. And since then she has always stopped by my various blogs, left comments, and connected with me via email and various social media outlets.

This year she asked for my address in order to send me something. And wow, I was so touched by her beautiful and incredibly thoughtful gift.

She has clearly checked out my rambles about my love for sailing and made me a card and a beautiful piece of jewelry with not only my name on it, but nautical colors and a nautical theme. And I can’t even say how much it means to me.

I am horrible at accepting gifts and saying thank you. I am all sorts of awkward when someone does something nice for me. And this is so beyond.

It was kind of a low-key Christmas for me this year. My dad was sick and holiday celebrations weren’t even on his radar. My mom stopped by for a visit but she doesn’t believe in spending money on things like gifts. We were a bit behind at my job, so no holiday gifts there. And The Dude and I set a limit which resulted in some awesome gift cards for me but meant that I’d be doing my own gift shopping. So finally getting the chance to check the mail this past weekend and finding this lovely surprise was just so incredible and amazing and… wow.

So I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Kat for taking the time to make and send this awesome gift. And to thank her for all her comments and our “convos.”

If you yet haven’t had the chance to “meet” her, here’s some of the places where you can find her online…
